Our Story

NewsUp was born in 2012 with the premise that we could make keeping up with the headlines just as fun as playing games. After testing multiple concepts, we realized that trivia was the best format for a news game. We started making quizzes about our favorite topics and played them with our friends over drinks, which turned into trivia nights at local pubs. People started telling us, "this is fun and I'm learning stuff…I want more,” and all of the sudden we had an arsenal of quizzes ranging from North Korea to Game of Thrones. Once we proved the value of trivia as a medium for delivering news, we started connecting current events topics in a meaningful way and built the first version of NewsUp. Hundreds of hours and thousands of quizzes later, NewsUp has grown into a global community of informed people.  

Over the past few years, we've discovered which formats work best for specific topics, we know the ideal length to drive completions, and we understand what consumers actually want. We’re putting all that insight and data to work for ourselves and our partners.  By opening up our platform, we're here to provide publishers a service that melds awesome software with sophisticated editorial and marketing strategies.  We're here to deliver value to the news ecosystem.
